Wallar’s fascination with architecture and history gave birth to the painting of the Superintendent’s House, Dalecarlia Reservoir that was selected as one of the top five works and the only one that was not a photograph exhibited at For the Record: Artfully Historic D.C. This was a juried exhibit of the 75 best original artworks that capture the changing urban landscape of Washington, D.C. , based on the DC Preservation League’s list of most endangered places.

The competition “For the Record: Artfully Historic D.C.” was created by the Washington D.C. Historical Society in partnership with the DC Preservation League and the Capitol Hill Art League. The show ran from April 11 to June 20, 2015 at the Carnegie Library, Mount Vernon Square, Washington, D.C.
